Structural BIM Technologist
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Structural Revit Technologist to deliver custom projects primarily in Revelstoke and Nelson, BC. You’ll also contribute to developing our software stack, workflows, and templates. The role requires expertise in structural drafting, 3D modeling, and familiarity with construction, fabrication, and engineering design. Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Create and manage 3D models in Revit for structural coordination with architects and consultants.
Prepare structural drawings for Schematic Design, Building Permit, Tender, and Construction.
Update and refine drawings to align with architectural specifications and design changes.
Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure efficient delivery.
Mitigate potential claims and conflicts.
Standards & Process Development
Streamline and enhance internal Revit standards, including view templates, Revit families, and drawing formats.
Collaborate with clients and internal team members to optimize data exchange between Revit and other BIM platforms.
Make suggestions for improvement.
Administration
Maintain timesheets and track project progress on internal systems.
Document decisions and communications per Juniper’s Professional Practice Management Plan.
Communicate professionally in writing and verbally.
Requirements
Diploma in Engineering Design Technology or equivalent experience.
3-5 years prior experience as a BIM / Design Technician.
Strong knowledge of Revit and BIM 360 platform.
Familiarity with CADwork, Rhino, Dynamo, and programming software (e.g., Python) is an asset.
Experience in construction, fabrication, or consulting.
Excellent time management
Adaptable to change.
Work Environment
Nelson, BC office-based, ~35 hours/week (negotiable).
Option to work remotely (negotiable).
Requires focus and self-direction in a busy environment.
